HOVER OVER TO SEE A 360 VIEW OF WHERE ALL THE MAGIC HAPPENS

cutting process

After the template is done, our fabricators now have access to your counter space from our shop. Right away, they start laboring and shaping the stone following the accurate template. The reason why we physically template all counters is to ensure maximum accuracy during all three phases of the process (cutting, fabricating, and installing) but mainly the cutting process. Our saw professional executes all the cuts carefully by placing the template on top of the material and tracing it to ensure we are accounting for possible mishaps (such as cabinets out level, walls out of square, etc). Then, the stone is carefully carried outside after cut to our polishers who will then execute the custom edge/corners chosen by customer at the showroom and template.

QUALITY CHECKING PROCESS

With the harmonic combination between the cutting process and the polishing process, all is left to do is ensure maximum quality achievable. This is tested by ensuring stone is completely protected by the sealer applied, ensuring the surface of the stone is as smooth and as shiny as it can be, and lastly by ensuring counters are stored in a protected and friendly environment (for example: quartz out of the sun and protected by anti UV plastic, marble with extra support due to is fragility, etc.).

POLISHING PROCESS

At this edge of the process is where real artists are created and where all the magic happens. The way each stone is consistently treated, perfected, buffed, and sealed to ensure maximum quality to all our customers. Here, the stone goes from a mere piece of rare stone from mother nature to a real piece of art with the edges and the surface shining brightly with an extra layer of protection on top of them. This is possible thanks to the use of the highest quality sealers, polishings pads, and cleaners in the market as well as the hard work from all our professionals.

frequently asked questions during the fabrication process

  • Yes, of course. Sunshine sales associates and our professional cutter are happy to show how the stone will be cut. You can do this by calling us and setting the appointment or through pictures.

  • If it is a natural stone ( granite, quartzite, marble, etc.) it will be sealed at the shop and we offer warranty on our sealer for up to a year. Afterwards, customer is responsible to seal the stone themselves and call us to schedule a professional sealing service.

Observation: the only stones that are not sealed during the fabrication process is quartz due to is non-porous surface.

  • Here at Sunshine Granite, we take pride in offering all our slabs book matched. In other words, they are mirror versions of themselves. This facilitates the process of matching veins and seam because our cutter can easily find the match by looking at an almost equal slab.
